Why Brent brought a French bed maker into a British showroom
Most of what we stock is British. Marshall & Stewart, which we make ourselves. Hypnos, which has been made in the UK since 1904. So why bring in a French brand?
Because Brent kept meeting people whose problems the British beds couldn't solve.
The people the British beds couldn't help
The couple where he needs his head elevated because of reflux and she needs to sleep flat. The woman recovering from hip surgery who can't get comfortable in any fixed position. The 90-year-old whose carer came into the showroom desperate to find something that would let her sleep through the night after years of broken rest. Brent put her on a Tréca with the adjustable base set to gently raise her legs and support her back. She slept through the night for the first time in years. Every Tréca bed is made in France, in the Alsace region, by a team that received France's EPV label in 2023. That's the Living Heritage Company recognition, the French equivalent of a Royal Warrant, awarded for rare and excellent know-how. These beds are made to order with full vertical upholstery and finishing that you can see and feel the moment you touch one. This is not mass production dressed up as luxury.
Natural materials that regulate your sleep
Tréca uses Arles merino wool, cashmere, Talalay latex, Royal Alpaca, and French linen across its collections. Like everything we stock, the natural fillings serve a purpose beyond comfort: wool regulates your temperature through the night, releasing moisture as you warm up and insulating as you cool. Cotton absorbs. Cashmere adds extraordinary softness. The result is a sleeping surface that works with your body's natural rhythms rather than trapping heat and moisture the way foam does.

From £3,500 for a Tréca Paris bed
The range starts at around £3,500 for a fixed-base model and runs significantly higher for the motorised adjustable configurations with premium upholstery. The adjustable base technology adds cost, and we won't pretend otherwise. But for the people who need it, the additional spend solves a problem that no amount of money spent on a fixed bed can fix.
Brent will talk you through what the different price points get you and whether the adjustability is something that would genuinely change your sleep. If it isn't, he'll say so. He'd rather you spent £2,000 on a Hypnos that's right for you than £8,000 on a Tréca you don't need.
We publish all our prices because we think you should know what things cost before you visit, not after. Most luxury bed retailers hide behind "call for a quote." We think that's backwards.

Marshall & Stewart is our flagship: handmade by our own team in England, entirely from natural materials, starting from £18,230. If you want the finest traditional handmade bed with no compromise on materials, that's the one. Tréca offers something entirely different: French design, adjustable bases, and a more contemporary aesthetic. They're not really competitors. They answer different questions. Many of our customers try both and know instantly which world they belong in.
Tréca vs Hypnos
Hypnos is British heritage bedmaking at its best, starting from £1,495. It's a more traditional bed at a lower price point with a proven pocket-spring system. If you want a reliable, well-made bed without the adjustable technology, Hypnos is the simpler, more affordable choice. If you need adjustability, if design matters, or if the French making tradition speaks to you, Tréca is worth every pound of the premium.
